Zingiber officinale
Ginger is a miraculous root, native to Southwest Asia, more specifically from China, and grows in certain parts of India and in almost any tropical climate, hence its wide expansion.
In Peru, it is produced in the Central Jungle region, mainly in Junín, where the ideal ecological conditions for its cultivation can be found. The ginger produced in Peru has a much more intense flavor than conventional ginger and is of excellent quality.
Ginger is considered a Superfood, because of its nutritional benefits and properties. It is high in Vitamin C that serves to strengthen the immune system and prevent free radicals from forming. It also contains Vitamin B9 or folic acid, and minerals, such as magnesium and potassium. The latter contributes to the proper functioning of the digestive system and allows for normal muscle contraction.
